Metodi Traykov has a bachelor’s degree in Informatics and a master’s degree in Informatics from the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad. He defended his dissertation on “Mathematical models and algorithms for predicting the spatial structure of proteins” in professional field 4.6: “Informatics and Computer Science”, again at the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad.

He currently holds the position of Assistant Prof. in the Department of Informatics at the New Bulgarian University. He lectures on C++ Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms and Data Structures at the New Bulgarian University, as well as on Website Development, and Basics in C# Programming at the American University in Bulgaria.

His research interests are in the field of Bioinformatics. He is the author of several publications in the field of Bioinformatics. Participates in a number of national and international projects and scientific forums dedicated to mathematics and computer science. He is a member of the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria.

Main field and subfields of research: Algorithms for solving the problem of protein folding, genetics, bioinformatics.
