Svetoslava Borislavova Dimitrova was enrolled as a full-time PhD student in October 2017 in the PhD program “Organization and Management of Information Processes” at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, as the topic of her dissertation is “Intellectual property aspects of electronic content in the university information environment”.
Svetoslava Dimitrova was born in Sofia. In 2010 she completed her secondary education at the National High School “Sofia”, with a humanitarian profile “Law” and English, Sofia. In 2014 she obtained a bachelor’s degree in “Print Communications” at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies, Sofia, developing and defending a thesis on “Characteristics of projects for creating e-content”. In 2016 she defended her master’s degree in “Electronic content: innovation and policies” at ULSIT, with the topic: “Means and methods for protection of e-content in the information environment”. In the period 2011-2012 she was a Reporter in the electronic magazine “Varhove” /Portal for mountaineers/, Sofia, and in 2013 she published her own articles in Spisanie.to. She works as Deputy Editor-in-Chief at UNA News Bulgaria (http://news.unabg.org/) – a project of the United Nations Association in Bulgaria and plays the role of Social Media Manager. Apart from being an editor, Dimitrova has also worked for a long time in the sector of Civil Registration and Administrative Services (CRAS).
Svetoslava Dimitrova participates in competitions and scientific forums. In 2014 she took first place in the essay competition on “The book between clichés and reality”, on the occasion of the World Day of Books and Copyright – April 23, project “The book – our more meaningful present” by ULSIT. In the same year she won second place in the category of Twitter-message in the National competition “Revival Leaders on Education”, organized by the National Representation of Student Councils. In 2016 and 2017 she was among the winners in the Competition for young poets and writers “Literary Spring in Slivnitsa”, organized by the Municipality of Slivnitsa. In 2019 she won the “Apple of Knowledge” in the category “Outstanding PhD student” at the sixth annual awards of the University Youth Knowledge Academy at ULSIT, in which she is a member of the expert group “Intellectual Property”.
She is a member of six research projects funded by the National Science Fund of the Ministry of Education and Science.
